Symphony of Lights in Hong Kong is the world's largest permanent light and sound show, involving multiple skyscrapers and landmark buildings around the harbour.

Hong Kong based firm, Ptarmigan Integration, won the contract to manage the government buildings, and brought in Artistic Licence to handle the complex data distribution requirements.

Artistic's open-domain, ethernet-based lighting protocol, Art-Net, was the natural choice given the large distances involved - the show involved buildings separated by several kilometres.

Managing the synchronization of cityscape shows can be challenging, but Art-Net was able to meet the stringent technical requirements through the use of embedded clock signals.

Multi-Play Rack provided a convenient means of show record/playback, while Art-Lynx O/P took care of Ethernet-to-DMX conversion at the local fixture level.
