DMX-Fix™ is the solution to those occasional nasty compatibility problems. The ones that usually occur when the crew should all be relaxing in the bar!

The recent evolution of more sophisticated DMX512 control, including DMX512-A and RDM (Remote Device Management) provide a wealth of benefits. Unfortunately they have also highlighted some of the design flaws in products on the market. The example seen most often is the lamp that flickers every 3 seconds, which is caused by the lamp's software not checking the DMX512 start code. The fault would not show up with plain and simple DMX512; with RDM data it sees the RDM poll as if it were standard DMX data. The effect is that it flickers or judders.

At 3am, faced with a rig of flickering lights, it is not much help to know that you are facing a design flaw. That's where DMX-Fix comes in. DMX-Fix is totally automatic and requires no configuration. It filters all the clever stuff out of the DMX line allowing even the most twitchy DMX receivers to function correctly. It also fixes all the common DMX512 timing errors such as missing stop bits, incorrect break length etc.

Just to add to the flexibility, DMX-Fix is also an optically isolated splitter. The product is housed in a robust extruded aluminium case.

All DMX512 ports use NeutriK 5 pin XLR connectors.

DMX-Fix is powered from a 9-24VDC power source on a 4 pin XLR.

This allows the use of most Colour Scroller PSU's as a source of power. (A separate Power Supply is available if required).

This product can be fitted with a Truss Mount Adapter Truss-Ears.

Frequently Asked Questions

• My lamp / fixture / dimmer flickers when I connect it to a DMX controller that outputs RDM.
  Most likely your fixture has a software bug that means it is not bothering to check the start code. You have five options: 1) Get the manufacturer to fix the problem. 2) Disable RDM on your controller. 3) A possible workaround is to set the start address to a value over 30. This is because the length of most RDM packets is less than 30 channels. 4) Use the 'Safe' output from {(Rack-Split)}. That output strips off all non-zero start code information. 5) Install {(DMX-Fix)}
